Welcome to DEAMcon!

DEAMcon is one of my favorite conferences that I attend every year. I make it a point. The first year we came there were two of us. Now there’s four of us from Nelnet that attend. So I would say the quality is very high. We definitely get our value out of the conference.

The conference really, really helps you see a wide variety of different ways that organizations manage in the space of DEI, affirmative action, which is compliance, and also recruiting. So I think that this conference is really state of the art, one of the best that I attend annually.

I’ve been coming to DEAMcon for well over 10 years. I continue to express to many of my friends and many of my former colleagues that this is probably the best conference I come to from an educational standpoint. My favorite thing about DEAMcon would be the networking opportunities and some of the outreach programs that are brought forward that I would not know about otherwise.

 

DEAMcon is my favorite conference to attend. I feel like there is a great combination of opportunities to interact and network with other organizations that stand in the same position as us as federal contractors, as well as interaction with the DirectEmployers staff, which helps create a family environment.

The quality of the DEAMcon program, the speakers are top notch. You are talking to people that have fantastic experiences and a wealth of knowledge that you feel like you can’t soak it all in at once. You need to take it back to your room, digest for a little bit and come back the next day ready to ask questions and network them a little bit more.

[Being a presenter at DEAMcon] was great. I’m not especially a public speaker, but it was really easy. The support that I received from the team in creating the presentation and helping me edit it, add some content that I think was beneficial for everyone was great. Good collaboration from the team and I really appreciate that type of support.

This was my first year being here. Being part of Five Star, my boss has been here three or four times now. But this year he was on vacation so I was in place for him. He felt like this would be a great experience for me to see what other companies are doing with recruitment and see if we can find new avenues for our company.

This is the first DEAMcon I’ve attended and I think this is absolutely a conference that our LEVERS should be at. There are so many recruiters and compliance people in the room that there is such great networking available. We need a few of our LEVERS to be able to come to an event like this. The amount of diversity, equity, inclusion topics that were coming through, our HR department should have been here too.
